Do you feel more comfortable attending therapy at home?

Since COVID19, are you still hesitant to meet in a therapy office?
Is your schedule so busy, you can’t imagine driving out to therapy?
With everything going on do you still need someone to talk to, to help navigate your feelings?
Are you not quite comfortable coming into a therapist’s office yet?

You’re Not the Only One

The past few months have disrupted a lot of people’s lives. We went from living our “norm” to suddenly finding ourselves worried if we will keep our jobs, how to deal with the kids adjusting to virtual learning, and how to keep everyone in our family from getting sick.  There have been so many changes in your everyday routine, that there are times you feel stressed, overwhelmed, mentally exhausted, and questioning what the future holds . While several months have passed since we were quarantined, it’s not uncommon to feel as though you’re still processing everything that has happened.

You may still be adjusting to your new work routine or accepting that you can’t see your friends and family like you used to. Perhaps your kids aren’t handling not being able to go to school or see their friends very well either, which is impacting you. While you may not feel quite comfortable coming into the office yet, you can still get the help you need.

Online Therapy Can Provide You The Support You Need

Online Therapy Can Provide You The Support You Need

You may feel so overwhelmed with life right now and the sudden changes that you can’t imagine carving time into your calendar to go to therapy.

Or maybe the idea of a one on one therapy session is still a little intimidating. Whatever is causing your hesitation, we have a solution that will make therapy more comfortable, calming, and accessible to you. Similar to our in person sessions, you will begin online therapy with a consultation so we can learn more about you, answer any questions you have, and help you get over any initial hesitation you may have. From there, our specialized counselors will go above and beyond to provide a space where you feel comfortable opening up and expressing your feelings.

Here at Friends In Transition Counseling we do our best to ensure that whether you are online or in person, you feel connected to your therapist. We are careful about creating a noise-free, distract free environment so that our sessions are 100% focused on you and your needs. This means that we have chosen reliable and confidential platforms to meet (such as Zoom and Google Meet), we are camera-ready but judgement free and always have good lighting so that we can see one another. We also know that life is rather unpredictable right now so we are prepared to pivot to phone or other methods of communication if technology doesn’t cooperate.

Here’s what we promise: The care we provide in person and online is tailored to meet you where you are and help you get the relief and restoration you desire.

For our clients who experience trauma and other mood dysregulation, our therapists are trained to assist you with strategies to keep you grounded and safe in an online therapeutic space.

Is online therapy as effective?

Research shows that online therapy is an effective treatment. In fact it can be more convenient because it can be done from the comfort of your own home. If you feel like you need to talk to someone now, why continue to put it off if you don’t have to? Online therapy is a great alternative, and once we feel it is safe to meet face to face again, you are welcome to join us for your session in our office!

Ready for Lasting Recovery? How Trauma-focused CBT Can Help

Trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy, or TF-CBT, can make a tremendous difference in your recovery. This is an evidence-based treatment model designed to help people overcome the negativity of traumatic experiences. This method is effective after multiple or single traumatic events. The idea behind TF-CBT is to help traumatized individuals fully process their trauma. There is also a significant focus on how to cope with the emotional stress of trauma.
