The path to a healthier, happier life begins with self-care. We are here to support you on your journey to wellness.

In life we are often caught between what we are thinking and what we are feeling. It sometimes becomes challenging to find a balance. Sometimes the wounding that we are feeling comes from the relationships we have (or lack of )with friends and loved ones.

As a couple and family therapist, I am specially trained to work with individuals, couples, and families.  I believe in the importance of systemic relationships and using those to understand my client’s lived experiences and relationships and how they connect to the person sitting in the room.

In addition, I value the various intersections of race, gender, and sexual ethnicity that combine to create lived experiences specific to my client. I aim to create a safe, warm, and open environment for my clients to explore their emotions and collaborate to build on their strengths and overcome their challenges.

I have clinical experience with individual teens, individual adults, premarital couples, couples, and families. My therapeutic approach pulls from a variety of systemic models based on the needs of my client, but predominantly uses Narrative, Cognitive Behavioral, Emotionally Focused and Solution Focused Therapy approaches.

While I enjoy working with individuals, and families, I am especially interested in couples and the array of challenges that they may face. I am also certified as a PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator, allowing me to assist premarital couples in preparing for life together. I am also passionate about reducing the stigma around mental health in the Black community and hope to provide a space that encourages people of color to feel safe and seek help when needed.

I am a Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist in Maryland, originally from Brooklyn, New York. I received my Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from Spelman College and my Master of Science degree in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Maryland College Park. My thesis research focused on how exposure to or interactions with the police are affecting Black women’s psychological well-being. I am a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
